AFASIC provides information, help and advice to families of children with speech and language impairments and is a membership organisation.
Carers Uk
Carers UK is a campaigning organisation. We provide information and advice on all aspects of caring to both carers and professionals. CarersLine is a free advice line for carers staffed by welfare rights, community care and benefits experts and answers over 22,000 carers' enquiries each year.
Children's Legal Centre
The Children's Legal Centre is a unique, independent national charity concerned with law and policy affecting children and young people. The Centre opened in 1981 as the major UK project for the International Year of the Child, and is staffed by barristers, solicitors and professionals with expertise in child law.
Connexions (Surrey)
An information, advice and guidance service for all 13-19 year olds (and up to 25 for young people with a learning difficulty and/or disability). offering advice and practical support on matters ranging from career choices, working and learning to more personal matters such as relationships, health and housing.

Provides help and advice for families caring for children with any type of disability or illness; aims to link families together and encourage mutual support between parents; has contact names/addresses of specific syndrome groups and local self help groups.

IPSEA - Independent Parental Special Educational Advice
IPSEA is a national charity providing free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs. All advice is given by trained volunteers.
Mencap
Supporting parents, carers and people with a learning disability to lead a full and valued life. Their website has information sheets and other resources on a variety of topics, from leisure to employment, money to education and much more, including information sheets on transition.
The National Autistic Society (Surrey Branch)
The Surrey Branch of the National Autistic Society was formed in 1995 and is run entirely by volunteers, most of whom are parents of children or adults with autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs). They support families involved in the care of children and adults with ASDs in Surrey, working closely with NAS professionals who run services from the NAS Autism Resource Centre in Godalming.
Rathbone Special Education Advice Line
National helpline offering advice and support to parents with children with special educational needs, helping them gain for their children an education appropriate to their potential. Areas of help: school admissions, school stages, statementing (and statement analysis), tribunals and appeals, bullying.
SCOPE
Scope is a national disability organisation whose focus is people with cerebral palsy. Scope's aim is that disabled people achieve equality: a society in which they are involved, and have the same human and civil rights, as everyone else. Local priorities: enquiry service offering advice and support to individuals and organisations.
SKILL
Works to develop opportunities in post-16 education and training for people with any type of disability.
South East Surrey Dyslexia Association (SESDA)
SESDA is run by a voluntary committee who send information on dyslexia to all private and state schools. We aim to increase dyslexia awareness with practical advice for parents, teachers and classroom assistants, through our conferences, meetings and courses.
Surrey Association For Visual Impairment
Provides a full range of services, aids and equipment for blind and partially sighted people resident in Surrey. Maintains statutory register. Provides comprehensive rehabilitation service. Maintains resource centre and low vision aid studio.
Surrey Care Trust (Parenting Circles)
Project runs groups for parents to help with parenting skills - all age ranges.
Surrey Young Carers Project
We can offer free impartial information and support to young carers. We aim to promote the needs of young carers in all child care and adult settings. SYC receives funding from Adult & Community Care Services, the Carers Grant and the Children’s Fund.
